AMCP Nexus is the Place to Be for Student Pharmacists!

AMCP welcomes student pharmacists to come and explore the many educational, networking and career-building facets of AMCP Nexus. Here are five programs developed specifically for our student pharmacists and those who guide them.

    SP1 - An Introduction to Big Data and Application to Clinical Decision-Making

    Tuesday, October 23, 9:50 am–11:20 am
    This session will introduce concepts that will help student pharmacists understand health information technology terms related to big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, clinical decision support and population health management – and how big data can be used to impact patient care.

    Student Pharmacist Connect

    Tuesday, October 23, 11:30 am–12:30 pm
    An opportunity for student pharmacists to connect with Student Pharmacist Committee (SPC) members and other chapter leaders to discuss chapter best practices, committee responsibilities, industry trends, student resources, internships, and APPE opportunities as well as network with student pharmacists from across the country.

    Trivia Night/Student Pharmacist and New Practitioner Networking Reception

    Tuesday, October 23, 6:30 pm-8:00 pm
    This networking reception will allow both student pharmacists and new practitioners the opportunity to connect as well as partake in some fun Managed Care Trivia!

    Student pharmacist attendees who have donated $19.90 or more through the AMCP Foundation’s 1990 Club will receive one complimentary beverage ticket. Learn more and donate now. Cash bar available.

    SP2 - What They Don’t Teach You in School: Skills Needed to Succeed in the Business World as a Managed Care Professional

    Wednesday, October 24, 9:50 am–11:20 am
    Most pharmacy school curriculums devote very small, if any, attention to business skills and other strategic career planning education. This session will introduce skills and concepts that will allow pharmacists to differentiate themselves as a managed care professional by attaining business-related skills involving finance, entrepreneurship, operations, and marketing.

    21st Annual AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase

    Wednesday, October 24, 5:00 pm–8:00 pm
    Everything is BRIGHTER in Florida, the same is true for student pharmacists’ futures at the AMCP 2018 Nexus Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase. This year we are expecting an even BIGGER turn out of Residency and Fellowship Programs in Orlando! We have also extended the time of the Showcase for all participants/attendees to fully explore managed care programs, foster new relationships and exchange valuable information!

The Residency and Fellowship Showcase features a forum for student pharmacists to meet one-on-one with representatives from managed care pharmacy residency and fellowship programs from across the country in preparation for post graduate activities.

This event provides an opportunity for potential candidates to explore managed care programs, foster new relationships and exchange valuable information!
